"It is displayed on the star-spangled banner, on our money, in our (neo)liberal ideology and hypercapitalism. It’s in the infiltration of white supremacists into every sphere of power (economics, politics, the military, the police, academia)."

Sociologist Jean Halley on NPR. From "...Who's Considered White?"
"Whiteness is something that's a negative. It means not being of color. There's really almost no other definition for it. It's been something, you know, that's shifted. Different people have been included in whiteness over the years and ultimately the only thing that's the real component of whiteness is having privilege. It's racial privilege, so I don't think there is racial privilege without whiteness in the United States, and there's not whiteness without racial privilege."

COVID guidelines from the nea - The National Education Association:

What are we to understand from this? Is it ALL Americans or Only White People who value self reliance, self discipline, family, hard work, delayed gratification? How damaging is this separation of values between black and white?
